We are pleased to announce the 23rd annual Financial Reporting and Business Communication (FRBC) Conference organised <\/span><\/span>by Henley Business School and the BAFA FARSIG. Henley Business School is located in Reading and takes 30 minutes by train <\/span>from Paddington Station in London. This is the premier conference of its kind worldwide and attracts an international <\/span>audience. The conference, supported by ICAEW charitable trusts, comprises parallel full paper with discussants; <\/span>developmental paper sessions and a doctoral stream.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\tThe conference addresses key areas of Accounting and Financial reporting, which are of interest to accounting academics <\/span><\/span>and practitioners and includes:<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\t• The purpose of the modern corporate report<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• The effectiveness of financial reporting standards<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• Accounting measurement and disclosure<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• Sustainability, integrated and environmental reporting<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• The composition and format of corporate reports and the role of the visual<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• Corporate reporting and accountability in the public sector<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t• The role of financial reporting and corporate governance<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n
\n\t\tPapers are invited on these topics and on other aspects of financial reporting and business communication. Papers may take <\/span><\/span>empirical, theoretical and conceptual approaches, including case studies or experiments.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tPapers should be submitted by 18th April 2019 (please mark as FULL or DEVELOPMENTAL paper) by emailing <\/span><\/span>Gunnar.Rimmel@henley.ac.uk OR michaeljohn.jones@bristol.ac.uk.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tPlease submit an abstract and full paper (up to 12,000 words) for parallel sessions. Discussants will be allocated to full paper <\/span>submissions and we expect that all presenters of full papers will be prepared to act as discussants on other papers.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tPlease <\/span>submit an abstract (maximum 500 words) or short developmental paper (up to 5,000 words) for developmental paper <\/span>sessions.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tThe main conference includes dedicated streams for papers on Social and Environmental Disclosure and Integrated <\/span><\/span>Reporting (organised by Gunnar Rimmel, Henley Business School), Visualisation in Business Communication with <\/span>Stakeholders (organised by Paul Ahn, University of Glasgow) and the History of Accounting (organised by David Oldroyd, <\/span>University of Newcastle). Please indicate on submission if you wish your paper to be considered for one of these streams.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tFor doctoral students wishing to present in the doctoral stream, a 500 word abstract should be submitted by 29 March 2<\/span><\/span>019 to richard.slack@durham.ac.uk. A Sue Hrasky Scholarship is available for 2019 to doctoral students in the doctoral <\/span>stream. This comprises a doctoral fee waiver, UK receipted travel, subsistence and accommodation costs at the conference.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\tApplications should be in the form of a structured abstract and email entitled FRBC Scholarship\/authors name. The award <\/span><\/span>of the Scholarship will be announced by the end of April 2019.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n
