H. Smith School of Business. The ninth conference will be held on&nbsp;<strong>June 5, 2020<\/strong>, at University of Maryland&#39;s&nbsp;<strong>R. H. Smith School of Business<\/strong>, College Park (MD).<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the conference will be:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Digitization and Analytics in Accounting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Public Policy Perspective<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Potential issues of interest that fit within this general theme include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tthe use of new methodologies in analyzing the effects of accounting regulation<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\thow digitization and\/or analytics affects the role of accounting regulators<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdissemination of private financial information and monitoring by market regulators<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tcybersecurity and accounting regulation<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tthe role of digital media in the accounting standard setting open discussion process<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tthe effects of the digital revolution on accounting professionals<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tthe impact of cyber insecurity on accounting fraud<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tthe impact of blockchain on accounting research and\/or practice<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tthe impact of artificial intelligence on research and\/or regulation and practice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Papers submitted to the JAPP conference will be subject to a blind review process. Papers accepted for presentation at the conference will also be considered for publication in a special theme issue of JAPP.<\/p>\n<p><u>PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE<\/u>: Papers for the 2020 conference issue may be submitted through the Editorial Manager electronic platform by&nbsp;<strong>December 31, 2019<\/strong>.
