In particular, participants will:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;\">\n<li>\n\t\tacknowledge process, philosophical, and methodological ambiguities in their research;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tunderstand the interplay between theory, method, data, rhetoric, and authorship in their research;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tapply a framework of 21 questions to focus and design their research;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdiagnose the current strengths and weaknesses of their research;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tlearn strategies for literature review, theory development, and theory testing;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tformulate alternative research ideas and research questions;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdesign a literature review;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdiscuss alternative qualitative research designs;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdiscuss alternative quantitative research designs;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdevelop a conceptual model;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdiscuss alternative measurements;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tdesign data collection and analysis;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t&nbsp;design their thesis project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This seminar helps early stage PhD candidates design their research project.
