We would like to announce the initiation of the European Accounting Association Virtual Accounting Seminar (VARS)<\/a>. The aim of VARS is to increase the inclusiveness of accounting research and promote the exchange of new and innovative ideas and findings. This is especially important now that the COVID-19 situation has forced the widespread cancellation of seminars, workshops and conferences.<\/p>\n

We are excited about this inter-institutional project and would be very grateful if you could act as advocates by joining us in the coming weeks and by also circulating details of the VARS amongst your colleagues and networks.<\/p>\n

The seminar will take place every Friday at 15.30 CET on Zoom, with a start date of May 8th<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Apart from the seminars themselves, the EAA VARS has two additional features. First, early career faculty and PhD students are encouraged to meet the speakers<\/strong> in the available 30 minute slots. Second, we hope that many colleagues will join in the virtual reception<\/strong> after the seminar. This offers a chance for socialising and agenda-free discussion. Both the meetings and the reception have a separate registration, but both are easy to get involved in. More details of these are available on the VARS website: https:\/\/eaa-vars.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n
