FARSIG has a commitment to encourage research and scholarship in financial accounting
\nand reporting. An inherent part of this commitment is to support doctoral students in financial
\naccounting and reporting subject areas. The subject range is wide ranging across all aspects
\nof financial accounting and reporting.
\nFARSIG is now inviting doctoral students in financial accounting and reporting to apply for
\nfinancial support to help with their doctoral studies. The bursary award would be for a
\nmaximum of \u00a32,000 to one or more recipients.
\nApplication:
\n– A statement as to why you are applying for the bursary.
\n– Two-page summary of your doctoral research, research aims, current progress
\nand plan to submission. There is no proforma application.
\n– Clear costings and timelines to support bursary application:
\n– This would normally be data collection costs, transcription costs or other
\ndirect costs in supporting you with your research data and writing up;
\n-Fees and conference attendance are not part of the bursary scheme;
\n-Expenses will only be reimbursed on production of supporting invoices only.
\n-You must be a current registered doctoral student, either full time or part time.
\n-A signed formal letter of support from your principal supervisor must be provided
\nwith the application.
\n-It is a condition of any bursary award that the doctoral student will present their
\nresearch at a future Financial Reporting and Business Communication Conference
\n(FRBC) \u2013 normally within 2 years of the bursary award.
\nEach application received will be reviewed by members of the FARSIG committee. The
\ncommittee will determine the final bursary awards and applicants will be informed.
\nThe closing date for applications is 10 June 2022 and all applicants will be informed of the
\ndecision by 31 July 2022.
