The Journal of Accounting, Auditing and Finance (JAAF) Symposium will take place October 27\u201328, 2023, at the Gabelli School of Business, Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus in New York City. The Symposium is arranged in collaboration with Fordham University. It will begin at 2:00 p.m. on October 27, and will include an afternoon session on October 27 and a morning session on October 28. Symposium attendance is by invitation only.<\/p>\n
Topic
\nWe invite submissions of high-quality research papers, addressing topical research questions in the broad areas of ESG. Submissions of papers employing novel research methods or data will be particularly welcomed.<\/p>\n
Relevant topics for the Symposium include (but are not limited to):
\n– Incentives surrounding social and environmental reporting decisions
\n– Economic consequences of social and environmental reporting activities
\n– How investors, other capital market participants and non-capital-market stakeholders use, process, gather and produce social
\nand environmental-related information
\n– Social and environmental disclosures<\/p>\n
Paper Sessions
\nPapers accepted for the Symposium will have the opportunity to be reviewed under fast track for publication in JAAF with the ultimate editorial decision to be determined according to JAAF\u2019s policies. Papers not accepted still can be resubmitted to JAAF as regular new submissions.<\/p>\n
Professor C. S. Agnes Cheng, Ph.D. (JAAF Conference Editor) and Professor. Yuan Xie, Ph.D. (Guest Editor), in consultation with Professor Xiao-Jun Zhang, Ph.D. (JAAF Editor-in-Chief), will select papers to be included in the Symposium.<\/p>\n
One-night hotel stay, as well as domestic airfare (in total no more than $800) for presenters will be covered for one presenting author per accepted paper.<\/p>\n
There will be a Best Paper Award for papers presented at the Symposium.<\/p>\n
Submission Procedures and Rules
\nPapers submissions should be emailed to jaafsymposium@fordham.edu. In the subject of the email, authors should indicate that the submission is for the JAAF Symposium 2023. Two files should be submitted as attachments to the email: 1) The title page that includes the title, author names, affiliations, keywords and any acknowledgements, and 2) The main text that includes an abstract and no information on the authors.<\/p>\n
The deadline for paper submission is May 31, 2023.<\/p>\n
Authors should submit only full papers (i.e., complete scholarly research projects that could reasonably be submitted to a public working paper database such as SSRN). Proposals will not be accepted. There is no specific manuscript format and no page limit, but papers should generally not exceed 50 pages.<\/p>\n
Presenters of accepted papers must register as symposium participants.<\/p>\n
