GMARS aims to promote a \u2018global village\u2019 of management accounting research by bringing together a diverse set of the highest quality research papers, plenary speakers and researchers from around the world. It provides an important intellectual space to appreciate and understand the theoretical perspectives and research methods that are used to study management accounting practices. GMARS is held annually, rotating around the world between the partner institutions \u2013 UNSW, Copenhagen Business School and Michigan State University.
\nThe first Global Management Accounting Research Symposium (GMARS) was held at Michigan State University in June 2004 and GMARS has since rotated around the world hosted by the 3 partner institutions (Michigan State University, Copenhagen Business School and UNSW).<\/p>\n
