For companies, the area offers many <\/i><i>interesting opportunities and provides several challenges for the <\/i><i>management accounting discipline.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Financial professionals and management accountants can play a key <\/i><i>role in dealing with the complexity of Latin America. As partners in <\/i><i>organisations, management accountants assist in identifying risks affecting <\/i><i>an organisation and in setting strategic goals. It is therefore essential to <\/i><i>identify the skills and capabilities that are necessary for this partnering role.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Furthermore, the evolving role of management accounting and <\/i><i>management accountants requires new skills and mindsets. It has been <\/i><i>accompanied by changes in the structure of the so-called finance function <\/i><i>in which they operate.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>Potential and indicative, but not exhaustive, areas of exploration that <\/i><i>are encouraged in this call for research proposals include:<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 The adaptation\/customization of foreign management accounting <\/i><i>practices to local needs, and the development of local solutions aiming <\/i><i>at decolonizing accounting and accounting techniques.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 The role of management accounting in enabling businesses in Latin <\/i><i>America to be more competitive amid geostrategic changes.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 Management accounting in the region \u2014 distinctive trends, market factors, <\/i><i>and management styles and how they impact practice.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 The examination of the integration of sustainability initiatives within the <\/i><i>management accounting practices of organizations in Latin American <\/i><i>countries and its impact on decision-making processes.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 Human capital and skills-oriented research: An assessment of the changes <\/i><i>in how we operate in a hybrid model versus face-to-face, emerging <\/i><i>technologies (such as Chat GPT) and their effect on the structure of <\/i><i>finance and business models.<\/i><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><i>\u2022 The process of digital transformation in management accounting within <\/i><i>Latin American organizations, including the adoption of cloud-based <\/i><i>software, automation tools, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.<\/i><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CIMA\u00ae, through its General Charitable Trust, is offering grants to both experienced and early-career researchers in Latin American countries.\u00ae Proposals must have a clear application to management accounting and control practice, demonstrable throughout the bid.
