It will be preceded by the Doctoral Consortium on January 8, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The Theme<br \/>\nThe theme of the 2026 JCAE Annual Symposium will be Current issues in accounting and economics research: implications for markets, organizations, and society. We invite submissions on a wide range of issues with significant implications for markets, organizations, and society. We particularly welcome accounting and economics research on topics that address current opportunities and challenges in today\u2019s fast-changing regulatory, technological, and economic landscape, including, but are not limited to:<br \/>\n\u2022 AI, Fintech, innovation<br \/>\n\u2022 Climate risk, biodiversity risk<br \/>\n\u2022 Corporate social responsibility, sustainable growth<br \/>\n\u2022 Sustainability reporting<br \/>\n\u2022 Informed decision-making, effective resource allocation<\/p>\n<p>Keynote Speaker<br \/>\nProfessor Kevin Tseng (School of Accountancy, Chinese University of Hong Kong)<\/p>\n<p>Details &amp; Submission Guidelines<\/p>\n<p>Plenary session submissions<br \/>\nPlenary paper submissions should be made directly to JCAE using Editorial Manager. The submission fee is US$100. The submission fee will be refunded for the papers accepted for plenary session presentation. Use the following link to submit papers:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.editorialmanager.com\/cae\/default1.aspx\">https:\/\/www.editorialmanager.com\/cae\/default1.aspx<\/a><br \/>\nIn the \u201cArticle Type,\u201d choose Conference Papers.<\/p>\n<p>1 Best Paper Award (USD 300) and 1 Best Discussant Award (USD 200) will be presented at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Concurrent session submissions<br \/>\nConcurrent manuscripts should be submitted in MS Word format (1 blind copy &amp; 1 copy with authors\u2019 details) to jcae2026.conf@polyu.edu.hk. Please state clearly that the manuscript is submitted for the Concurrent Session by including \u201cConcurrent Session\u201d in the subject line of the email. Please do not use Editorial Manager for the submission of Concurrent Session papers. There is no submission fee for Concurrent Sessions submissions.<\/p>\n<p>Journal Publication<br \/>\nPapers accepted for Plenary Sessions will be published in the JCAE, subject to satisfactory revision and acceptance by the Editors. Authors are required to sign a copyright release form as a condition of publication.<\/p>\n<p>Authors who do not wish to commit their papers to the Journal should submit their papers for consideration at the Concurrent Sessions. Note that concurrent session submissions are not considered journal submissions and will not be automatically considered for the journal.<\/p>\n<p>Plenary submissions not selected for Plenary Sessions will be considered for the Concurrent Sessions. Authors who do not wish their papers to be considered for Concurrent Sessions should clearly state this in their submission (or notify us after submitting it to Editorial Manager).<\/p>\n<p>Doctoral consortium submissions<br \/>\nThe Doctoral Consortium allows students to present their proposals and interact with renowned professors of international standing. Research proposals should be submitted in MS-Word format with an abstract (maximum 800 words) to jcae2026.conf@polyu.edu.hk. Please state clearly that the proposal is submitted for the Doctoral Consortium by including \u201cDoctoral Consortium\u201d in the title of the email.<\/p>\n<p>Important Dates<br \/>\nPlease make your submissions (i.e., papers for Plenary sessions through Editorial Manager and papers for Concurrent sessions or Doctoral Consortium via email) by 15 September 2025. Authors will be notified of their acceptance around September 30, 2025. Each paper will be peer-reviewed according to the policies of JCAE and the journal publisher Elsevier.<\/p>\n<p>About the Journal of Contemporary Accounting &amp; Economics<br \/>\nThe JCAE is a tri-annual publication published by Elsevier in April, August, and December. The Journal encourages submissions in all the major areas related to accounting and auditing issues.<br \/>\nJCAE is widely recognized as a high-quality journal by researchers and journal evaluation institutes. For example, since 2010, JCAE has been ranked an \u201cA\u201d grade journal in the Journal Rating Listing of the Australian Business Deans Council (ABDC). JCAE is included in the SCOPUS of Elsevier, the EconLit of the American Economic Association, and the SSCI listing.
