While papers will be accepted across the full range of accounting history topics and methodological and theoretical perspectives, authors are encouraged to address topics relevant to the conference theme.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Potential topics to explore include, but are not limited to:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Historical parallels between the introduction of double-entry bookkeeping and modern<br \/>\nblockchain<br \/>\n\u2022 Past resistance to accounting innovations: lessons for adopting new technologies today<br \/>\n\u2022 Automation in accounting: from mechanisation to digital transformation<br \/>\n\u2022 Historical accounting failures and their influence on modern standards<br \/>\n\u2022 Evolution of fraud detection: insights from historical cases for modern forensic accounting<br \/>\n\u2022 Corporate social reporting through the ages: lessons for current sustainability frameworks<br \/>\n\u2022 Development of non-financial metrics: historical perspectives on measuring social impact<br \/>\n\u2022 Evolution of accounting education: historical foundations for future professional development<br \/>\n\u2022 Gender, diversity, inclusion and equity in accounting: historical barriers and lessons for current challenges<br \/>\n\u2022 Accounting as a control and surveillance mechanism through history<br \/>\n\u2022 Colonial influences on accounting systems: implications for modern international standardisation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Deadlines:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Paper Submission Opens: 1st September 2025<br \/>\n\u2022 Paper Submission Deadline: 13th February 2026<br \/>\n\u2022 Notification of Acceptance: 10th April 2026<br \/>\n\u2022 Registration Opening: 1st April 2026<br \/>\n\u2022 Early Bird Registration Ends: 22nd May 2026<\/p>\n<p>An Emerging Scholars\u2019 Colloquium will be held immediately prior to the conference. Research proposals are due by 31st March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The discipline of Accounting at the University of Wollongong has a distinguished history of supporting research in accounting history, a legacy established by Professor Gaffikin\u2019s scholarship and leadership. The conference will be held at the University of Wollongong\u2019s main campus, renowned for its picturesque setting and state-of-the-art facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Submission and Review of Papers: Papers written in the English language and complying with the Accounting History manuscript style should be submitted online in Word format no later than 13th February 2026. All papers will be subject to a double-blind refereeing process.
