The FRBC conference is one of the premier conferences of its kind worldwide and it attracts an international and highly engaged audience. The conference comprises sessions with full papers with discussants, developmental paper sessions and a doctoral stream.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Themes<\/strong><br \/>\nThe conference addresses key areas of accounting, financial reporting, corporate reporting and business communication which are of interest to accounting academics and practitioners. These include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The role and limitations of the corporate annual report<\/li>\n<li>The e\u01afectiveness of financial reporting standards<\/li>\n<li>Accounting measurement and disclosure<\/li>\n<li>Sustainability, integrated and environmental reporting<\/li>\n<li>The composition and format of corporate reports and the role of the visual<\/li>\n<li>Corporate reporting and accountability in the public sector<\/li>\n<li>The effectiveness of narrative and textual information in corporate reporting<\/li>\n<li>The role of financial reporting and governance mechanisms in capital markets<\/li>\n<li>Historical perspectives on financial accounting and reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Keynote speaker confirmed as of now<\/strong><br \/>\nJuan Manuel Garc\u00eda Lara<br \/>\nUniversidad Carlos III de Madrid<br \/>\nEditor, Accounting and Business Research<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Manuscripts submission<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Full and developmental papers stream:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nThe conference accepts both full and developmental papers. Full papers presented will be assigned a discussant to provide comments. Developmental papers can be either a work-in-progress paper or an extended abstract (of no less than 1,000 words). Submissions on the above-mentioned topics and on other aspects of financial reporting and business communication are welcome. Papers may take empirical, theoretical and conceptual approaches, including case studies or experiments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Doctoral stream:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nFor doctoral students wishing to present in the doctoral stream, a structured abstract of up to 1,000 words should be submitted. A Sue Hrasky Scholarship is available for FRBC 2026 to doctoral students in the doctoral stream. This comprises a doctoral fee waiver, and receipted travel to the conference, subsistence and accommodation costs related to the conference (of up to \u00a3500). All submissions by doctoral students will be considered for the scholarship. The award of the Scholarship will be communicated via email.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Submissions:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nSubmissions should be made by emailing <a href=\"mailto:frbc2026@glasgow.ac.uk\">frbc2026@glasgow.ac.uk<\/a>. The submission deadline is 17 April 2026. Authors should indicate in their submission whether their paper should be considered for the FULL, DEVELOPMENTAL or DOCTORAL paper track.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Notification of acceptance:<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nSubmissions will be considered at a first-come, first-served basis and authors will be notified about the acceptance of their paper the soonest possible after submission and no later than 1 May 2026.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p><strong>Publication Opportunities<\/strong><br \/>\nAccounting and Business Research (ABR) welcomes submissions of papers accepted for presentation at the conference.
