\n\t\tWBS is a research-led, triple-accredited university-based business school with a portfolio of world-class programmes. <\/p>\n

\t\tWe are continuing our search for top-flight talent to join our outstanding faculty by inviting applications for the role of Assistant Professor in Accounting. We are looking for an internationally oriented, ambitious yet collegial scholar who will contribute to the existing research streams within the school’s Accounting group. <\/p>\n

\t\tWe especially welcome applications from researchers with a strong social science background, and whose research has the potential to contribute to the School’s research agenda in terms of top quality publications, grant income and impact. We are particularly keen to appoint someone whose research addresses the social and organisational dimensions of accounting. <\/p>\n

\t\tThe successful candidate will have completed or will be near the completion of their doctoral studies, have a demonstrable capacity to publish at the very top level and have an ambitious future research agenda. Evidence of an emerging record of publishing in high quality academic journals would be an advantage. <\/p>\n

\t\tTo produce and publish research of international excellence, and teach on the range of high quality programmes offered by the School at undergraduate, specialist masters and MBA levels. <\/p>\n

\t\tTo pursue individual teaching, administrative and other activities supporting the work of the Business School. <\/p>\n

\n\t\tDuties and Responsibilities <\/p>\n

\t\tResearch <\/p>\n

\t\t1. To pursue individual and collaborative research of the highest quality and to make a full contribution to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) or equivalent. <\/p>\n

\t\t2. To apply for, in collaboration with colleagues as appropriate, external funding through research grants or contracts to support a developing research agenda. <\/p>\n

\t\t3. To manage research projects within the University. <\/p>\n

\t\t4. To publish research outcomes with leading academic presses and in appropriate journals of international standing, and to publish and disseminate the results of research and scholarship in other outlets. <\/p>\n

\t\t5. To attend and present research findings and papers at academic and professional conferences, and to contribute to the external visibility of the Business School. <\/p>\n

\t\t6. To have experience of and skills in outreach, public engagement and the generation of impact. <\/p>\n

\t\t7. To contribute fully to the Business School and University research plans, including providing such information as may be required by the Business School to monitor the progress of each member of staff’s research programme and to support the School fully in the preparation of material required for similar activities such as the REF. <\/p>\n

\t\t8. To make a full contribution to the research programmes of the Business School and the University. <\/p>\n

\t\tTeaching <\/p>\n

\t\t1. To give lectures, seminars, tutorials and other classes as appropriate in support of the required teaching obligations, including programmes at UG, PG, Masters, Executive MBA and PhD levels in the relevant discipline areas and to supervise work by all levels of students, as appropriate. <\/p>\n

\t\t2. To co-operate with colleagues in the continuous review and development of the curriculum and in the design and launch of new degrees or other academic awards where appropriate. <\/p>\n

\t\t3. To design and be responsible for the contents of specific areas of teaching and learning within the portfolio of programmes at all levels. <\/p>\n

\t\t4. To maintain a broad knowledge of up-to-date research and scholarship in relevant fields to ensure that teaching meets the standards expected within a research-led University. <\/p>\n

\t\t5. To undertake academic duties (i.e. setting examination questions, marking, invigilation and pastoral support of students) required to sustain the delivery of high quality teaching. <\/p>\n

\t\t6. To support and comply with the University and the Business School’s teaching quality assurance standards and procedures including the provision of such information as may be required by the Business School or the University. <\/p>\n

\t\tAdministration and Other Activities <\/p>\n

\t\t1. To undertake such specific departmental roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the Dean of the Business School. <\/p>\n

\t\t2. To attend School and Group level meetings and to participate in other committees and working groups within the School, the faculty and the University. <\/p>\n

\t\t3. To engage in continuous professional development. <\/p>\n

\t\t4. To ensure compliance with health and safety in all aspects of work. <\/p>\n
