This fellowship is funded by the Paris-Seine Initiative for Excellence for a multi- disciplinary investigation of corporate innovation and corporate decisions. The fellowship is for an initial 12 months, renewable for another 12 months upon satisfactory performance in the first year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"margin-left:5.7pt;\">The successful applicant will work under the supervision of Professor Ping-Sheng Koh. The research team has published widely in accounting (e.g., <em>The Accounting Review<\/em>, <em>Journal of Accounting and Economics<\/em>, and <em>Journal of Accounting Research<\/em>), finance (e.g., <em>Journal of Finance<\/em>, and <em>Journal of Financial Economics<\/em>) and management (e.g., <em>Administrative Science Quarterly<\/em>, <em>Management Science<\/em>, and <em>Strategic Management Journal<\/em>). The main responsibilities involve:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tManaging structured and unstructured data, database design and development, including additional data collection;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tEmpirical analysis of the data; and<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tCollaboration in the development of research papers, conference presentations, and the submission and revision of papers to top-tier, peer-reviewed journals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"margin-left:5.7pt;\">He or she will be invited to participate in the research activities at ESSEC Business School such as seminars and colloquia, as well as access to databases.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tPhD or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, economics, statistics, business or related fields (PhD students close to graduation can be considered but must complete the degree before commencement of the fellowship);<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tHigh proficiency in managing structured and unstructured data, especially in the financial domain;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tHigh proficiency in programming and statistical software such as Python, R, STATA, or SAS;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tRelated prior research experience is a plus;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tEvidence of creativity and innovation is high valued;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tResponsible and meticulous;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tExcellent verbal and written communication skills in English;<\/li>\n<li class=\"rtejustify\">\n\t\tPossess a growth mindset and tenacity to overcome challenges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left:5.65pt;\">To apply, interested applicants should email the following to <a href=\"mailto:kohp@essec.edu\">kohp@essec.edu:<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\tCover letter\/research statement;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tCurriculum vitae;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tOne representative publication or working paper;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tTwo letters of recommendation (send directly to the email above by the recommenders)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"rtejustify\" style=\"margin-left:5.65pt;\">Expected start date is February 3, 2020 or negotiable.
