\n\tANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE OPENING OF AN INTERNATIONAL SELECTION TENDER PROCEDURE FOR DOCTORATE HIRING<\/div>\n

\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\t1. Framework<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\tThe Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Prof. Dr. Isabel Capeloa Gil, hereby announces an international selection tender for one vacancy of doctorate junior researcher to perform duties of scientific research, on an exclusivity basis, in the scientific field of Service Management and Performance. The research activities are to be carried out at CEGE – Research Centre in Management and Economics, integrated at the Faculty of Economics and Management \/ Católica Porto Business School of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, in Oporto, within the framework of the Agreement-Programme of Institutional Support Selection Procedure (articles 17, 19, and 28 of the Scientific Employment Regulation) signed between the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology, I.P. ( FCT,IP) and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tThe activities will be carried out within the Service Management and Performance (SMP) group of the CEGE. This group conducts research with the goal of significantly advancing the field, both in terms of theory and managerial practice, combining methodological rigor with managerial relevance. Relevant subjects include the management of digitally enabled services, benchmarking and efficiency analysis, Analytics and Intelligence in Service Management, and Finance Analytics. These topics are primarily researched based on Operations Management and Management Science approaches, but may also be analysed drawing on other disciplines in Management, such as Finance. The group emphasizes empirical methodologies, including quantitative models and analytics, case studies, use of secondary data\/big data, among other methodologies. The group has conducted research in retail, telecommunications, healthcare, transportation, utilities, financial services, and manufacturing firms with relevant service activities, among other sectors.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\tThe selected researcher is expected to be involved in a number of activities related to research projects within the CEGE and in the SMP area, including:<\/div>\n
\n\t– Collection and analysis of data associated with Services (in Portugal and abroad).<\/div>\n
\n\t– Participation and development of CEGE projects, mainly in the fields of Service Management and Performance and Service Analytics<\/div>\n
\n
\n\t\tAnalysis of case studies on Service activities (in Portugal and abroad).<\/div>\n
\n\t\t– Writing of scientific articles in collaboration with researchers from the CEGE.<\/div>\n
\n\t\t– Organization of conferences and scientific events, as well as knowledge dissemination and transfer activities.<\/div>\n
\n\t\t– Collaboration in the supervision of Master students within CEGE projects.<\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\t2. Applicable Legislation<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\t\tDecree-Law no. 57\/2016 of 29 August, amended by Law no. 57\/2017 of 19 July, which approved the doctorate hiring regime destined to stimulate scientific and technological employment for all knowledge areas (RJEC), without prejudice to the specific regulations applicable to the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.<\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\t3. Workplace<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\t\tThe workplace is located at the Oporto facilities of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.<\/div>\n
\n\t\t <\/div>\n
\n\t\t4. Remuneration<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\t\tGross monthly remuneration to be paid is 2.134,73 € euros, plus meal, vacation, and Christmas allowances<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\t5. Admission requirements<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\tAny national, foreign, and stateless candidates who: i) hold a doctoral degree in Management Science, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Management, Finance, Economics or related scientific fields, ii) have a scientific and professional curriculum whose profile is suited for the activities to be performed, and iii) have a good command of English, can submit an application. In the event the doctoral degree was awarded by a foreign higher education institution, said degree must comply with the provisions of Portuguese law on the recognition of foreign degrees. For those purposes, the requirements described in point no. 11 of this notice must be considered.<\/div>\n
\n\t <\/div>\n
\n\t6. Selection Process<\/strong><\/div>\n
\n\tPursuant to article 5 of RJEC, selection is to be made based on the candidates’ scientific and curricular career evaluation.<\/div>\n
