\nQualifications and Requirements:\u00a0<\/strong>According to the Italian legislation, eligible candidates must have obtained a PhD at the application date.
\nJob starting date:<\/strong>\u00a0from December 2024 with flexibility depending on individual circumstances.
\nJob duration:<\/strong>\u00a0the tenure-track entails a 6-year full-time contract. Tenure and promotion to Associate Professor is obtained upon the granting of the National Habilitation to Associate Professor (ANVUR).
\nSalary and Workload:\u00a0<\/strong>The annual gross salary – net of employer-paid social security contributions \u2013 is in the range of approx. \u20ac36.000 – \u20ac 44.000, depending on seniority – corresponding to a monthly net (13 instalments) of approx. \u20ac1.950 – \u20ac 2.400. Whilst this is not negotiable, faculty members can obtain bi-annual increases upon meeting targets as defined by the University of Padua.

\nThe\u00a0Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua<\/strong>\u00a0invites applications for\u00a0an Assistant Professor<\/strong>\u00a0(tenure-track) in Accounting\u00a0<\/strong>starting at the end of 2024\/beginning of 2025. Applications by candidates of any nationality are welcome. Knowledge of English is a necessary requisite.<\/p>\n

Profile<\/strong>
\nThe ideal candidate should have a PhD in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or siblings\u2019 disciplines obtained in Italy or abroad and preferably with relevant experience in prior positions making her\/him eligible to apply for an ERC Starting Grant.
\nApplicants should provide evidence of a potential ability to publish in high quality scientific journals in the areas of accounting. Publications in journals ranked above \u20183\u2019 according to the AJG of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (ABS) and those ranked \u2018A\u2019 according to the Italian Agency for the Assessment of Research Quality (ANVUR) are especially valued.
\nIt will be preferred a teaching focus in financial or managerial accounting at the Bachelor, Master, or PhD levels either in Italian or English. \u00a0Teaching at recognized international institutions is particularly valued. Most of the teaching with be delivered at the Department of Economics.
\nThe successful candidate must display an ability to work within national and international networks of scholars within their respective research clusters.
\nThe Department particularly values the ability in securing research funding through competitive bids at the University or national level. Last, candidates should demonstrate a willingness in taking up service position at the Department level.<\/p>\n

Job Description and Position<\/strong>
\nThe position offered is Assistant-Professor in Accounting (scientific sector SECS-P\/17 according to the Italian academic system). The position is tenure-track, full time, with a maximum teaching load of 90 contact hours per academic year.
\nThe annual gross salary – net of employer-paid social security contributions \u2013 is in the range of approx. \u20ac36.000 – \u20ac 44.000, depending on seniority. The salary is subject to employee-paid social security contributions and Italian income tax. About the Department<\/strong>
\nThe Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova was founded in 1989 and counts over 2000 students and more than 75 faculty members conducting research in economics or business fields.
\nIn 2023 the dSEA was granted\u00a0<\/a>the\u00a0EQUIS Accreditation<\/a>. Since 2012, the University guide\u00a0‘Grande Guida<\/a>‘ ranks the Department among the top three institutions for teaching quality in the areas of Economics and Statistics.
\nThe Department ranked fourth in Italy in terms of research quality and productivity. Research carried out in accounting has been ranked third in Italy by the National independent agency (ANVUR<\/a>).
