The Department of Economics and Management (DSEA) at the University of Padua is seeking excellent candidates for a two-year postdoctoral position (Contratto di Ricerca) in the Accounting, Banking or Finance disciplines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Position Details<\/strong><\/p>\n

Full-time, research-only position, funded through the \u2018Dipartimento di Eccellenza\u2019 project on \u2018Evaluating Sustainability-related Activities\u2019. The salary (approx. 33.600 gross per year) is comparable to similar contracts offered by other public European universities. The Italian taxation authority offers a generous tax break nearly offsetting taxation for all individuals, regardless of their nationality, who were tax residents outside of Italy during the previous two years prior to joining. \nThe contract does not guarantee automatic renewal. A two-year extension can be negotiated pending funding availability and performance review.

Candidate Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n

The candidate must have already obtained or shall be awarded a PhD in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or any business-related disciplines by 31 March 2026. The PhD could be granted by either an Italian or International institution. Applicants must meet the following specifications:
\na) a research track record of, or potential to achieve, publications in leading international journals;
\nb) the ability to pursue research activity, and a willingness to contribute to the broad research profile of the Department, through seminar and conference presentations etc.;
\nc) the willingness to seek external research funding and ability to conduct research with impact and connection with practice;
\nd) the ability to act as a good citizen, participating and contributing to the development and success of the Department;
\ne) proficiency in spoken and written English and the ability to work well as part of a team.
\nThe Department is particularly interested in applicants who will contribute to the research themes of the Accounting, Banking and Finance Group. Research themes carried out by the Group include Financial Reporting and Regulation; Management Accounting and Control; Banking and Corporate Finance; Governance, Accountability and Social Responsibility.

About the Department<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua was founded in 1989 and counts over 2000 students and more than 80 full time faculty and over 30 post-docs conducting research in economics or business fields<\/a>. The working language of the Department of Economics and Management is Italian, whereas teaching is done mainly in English across the master\u2019s and PhD levels.
