The Accounting and Management Control Department of IE University<\/a> is seeking candidates in all areas of accounting for up to two tenure-track Assistant professorships beginning September 2027<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Accounting and Management Control Department is part of a university research cluster that combines advanced empirical methods with rigorous theoretical models to study the policies and mechanisms shaping markets and society. Institutions, firms, and markets play a critical role in resource allocation and the functioning of modern economies. This cluster examines these dynamics to generate evidence-based insights that support smarter policy design and enrich public debate.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Department\u2019s research interests are diverse covering financial reporting, management control systems, auditing, taxation, accounting history, accounting for non-profit organizations and sustainability reporting. The research methodologies used are also diverse, embracing quantitative and qualitative research. Although we welcome candidates working in any accounting-related area, for the near future we are particularly interested in the following two topics: Accounting and Technology<\/u> and ESG reporting<\/u>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our faculty have published in top academic journals including the Accounting Review, Accounting Organizations and Society, Contemporary Accounting Research, the European Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, among others. They have won prestigious research grants awarded by national and international bodies. In addition, our faculty includes current or former Editors of the European Accounting Review and the Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, and a former president of the European Accounting Association.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n JOB QUALIFICATIONS:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The successful candidate will be expected to publish in top-tier peer-reviewed journals and to become an excellent instructor in our programs. By the starting date, applicants should have a PhD degree in accounting, or in any other subject (e.g. Finance, Economics and Sociology) but with a clear focus on accounting. The degree should be granted by an internationally recognized school.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Spanish language skills are not required. Our working language is English.
