BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION WITH A FOCUS ON ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING<\/p>\n

at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation at the Faculty of Business and Management.<\/p>\n
It is a position in accordance with \u00a7 98 of the Austrian Universities\u2019 Act (Universit\u00e4tsgesetz – UG) and will be based on a civil-law employment contract with the University on the basis of the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz). The contract is permanent, with full-time employment (100%).<\/p>\n
Responsibilities include<\/p>\n
The future professor shall represent the field of \u201cAccounting and Auditing\u201d in research and teaching. The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an internationally visible profile and to contribute to the advancement of the discipline through their scholarly work. Research is expected to focus on accounting and auditing as well as their connections to corporate reporting. This includes, among other topics, the auditing of financial and sustainability information, national and international developments in auditing and assurance, questions of audit quality and auditor independence, as well as regulatory and digital developments in accounting and auditing.<\/p>\n
The successful candidate is expected to actively engage with the faculty\u2019s research centre \u201cAccounting Theory and Research\u201d and to contribute to the broader research area \u201cEconomy, Politics and Society\u201d. In addition, the successful candidate shall contribute to strengthening the international profile of the department and the Faculty.<\/p>\n
The future professor should also actively participate in international academic networks, present their research at leading international conferences, and successfully acquire competitive third-party research funding.<\/p>\n
In teaching, the successful candidate is expected to contribute primarily to the subject area of auditing in the relevant study programs (Bachelor, Master, PhD) of the Faculty of Business and Management.<\/p>\n
Personal involvement in academic administration and self-governance as well as in the department\u2019s and faculty\u2019s working groups will form another essential responsibility.<\/p>\n
Employment requirements include<\/p>\n
a) a degree in higher education in Austria or the equivalent abroad, pertinent to the position;<\/p>\n
b) a relevant habilitation or an equivalent qualification (e.g., Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor);<\/p>\n
c) publications in leading international peer-reviewed journals as well as evidence of international scholarly visibility and recognition;<\/p>\n
d) proven competence in empirical-quantitative and\/or qualitative methods;<\/p>\n
e) evidence of involvement in international research;<\/p>\n
f) interdisciplinary work;<\/p>\n
g) relevant international experience;<\/p>\n
h) experience in the acquisition and management of competitive third-party funding;<\/p>\n
i) pronounced teaching skills;<\/p>\n
j) management skills;<\/p>\n
k) the ability to teach in English;<\/p>\n
l) German language proficiency is not required initially; however, the successful candidate is expected to attain a proficiency level of C1 within two years.<\/p>\n
