The aim is to create an opportunity to build bridges between &ldquo;factions&rdquo; that sometimes confront each other without making the right effort to understand the other side.&nbsp;Each conversation will have a mediator that will act as the chair and the facilitator of the conversation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Our first AED will be on &ldquo;Narrative reporting and disclosure&rdquo;. We are honoured to host&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/people.ucd.ie\/niamh.brennan\" title=\"https:\/\/eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fpeople.ucd.ie%2Fniamh.brennan&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cs.young%40lancaster.ac.uk%7C6e55c8c8ca024969e75b08d90961a100%7C9c9bcd11977a4e9ca9a0bc734090164a%7C0%7C1%7C637551137195103421%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZ\">Niamh Brennan<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www3.nd.edu\/~mcdonald\/\" title=\"https:\/\/eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https:%2F%2Fwww3.nd.edu%2F~mcdonald%2F&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cs.young%40lancaster.ac.uk%7C6e55c8c8ca024969e75b08d90961a100%7C9c9bcd11977a4e9ca9a0bc734090164a%7C0%7C1%7C637551137195113389%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8\">Bill McDonald<\/a>, mediated by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lancaster.ac.uk\/lums\/people\/steven-young\">Steven Young<\/a>&nbsp;on <strong>June 24&nbsp;at 4.15pm CEST.<\/strong>&nbsp;The recording can be viewed <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/eaa-online.org\/arc\/portfolio\/academic-empathy-dialogues-narrative-reporting-and-disclosure\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0080cc;\">here<\/span><\/a><\/strong>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The conversation will explore a range of themes including:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Analysing content: humans vs. machines&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The role of replication&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Transparency, interdisciplinarity, and resource sharing<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>\n\t\t<span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">The big unanswered questions in financial discourse and the barriers to progress<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:14px;\"><span style=\"font-family:arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\">Participants will have the opportunity to submit questions during the event exclusively via the Zoom chat.
