Climate<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
Milan enjoys a mild temperate Mediterranean climate. The average annual temperature is 15ºC with warm summers and mild winters, rarely below 5ºC. There is light rainfall mainly in autumn and during the beginning of spring. Average temperature in May\/June is around 25 C°.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Insurance<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
The organizers of the Congress do not provide insurance and do not take responsibility for any loss, accident, damage or illness that might occur during the Congress, or in the course of travel to or from the meeting site.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Participants are therefore strongly recommended to arrange for their own personal insurance<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Bank and money exchange<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
The closest bank, located within the University area, is Banca Popolare di Sondrio, via Bocconi 8. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

Tourist tax<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
The tourist tax, introduced by the City Council with Resolution n. 19 of 11 June 2012, applies to all non-city residents staying at hotels and at all other accommodation facilities within Milan.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Revenues from the tourist tax will finance actions for the preservation of the city's artistic heritage and for the improvement of services for all tourists. The tax has been in force since 1 September 2012 and applies to each visitor with fixed rates ranging from € 2.00 to € 5.00 for each night of stay in accordance with the type, class and number of stars of the accommodation facility.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Emergency room<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
In case of an emergency, you should call the Ambulance Service: tel. 118.
As an alternative, you can also go to an <\/span><\/span>Emergency Room<\/span><\/span><\/a><\/span> at one of the hospitals in the city, where primary care is given in urgent and emergency cases. Priority is not given according to the order of arrival, but according to the seriousness of the emergency. Emergency Room care is free of charge for all emergency situations, while a ticket fee must be paid for non-urgent cases.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Emergency medical service<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span>
If you ever need to consult a physician at night or during public holidays, you can call the Emergency Medical Service at the number +39 02.34567. This service, called "Guardia Medica" in Italian, is free of charge and is operational at night from 8:00pm to 8:00am, on Saturdays from 10:00am to 8:00pm and on national holidays and Sundays from 8:00am to 8:00pm.
Based on descriptions of the sick person's condition, physicians are able to prescribe necessary medication for urgent treatments and, in the most serious cases, they can even provide emergency services, and in some cases make house calls. Please note: the service is normally offered in Italian.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
