With exponential interest in topics such as environmental impact, greenhouse gas emissions, social and human rights issues, lifecycle analysis and circular economy, sustainability reporting standards, its integration into business school programs and curricula has become increasingly essential.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The EAA Annual Congress 2025 Classroom Session, brought to participants by the EAA Education Committee, highlights the importance of thoughtfully including sustainability topics into the classroom. It aims to equip higher education instructors with the tools to effectively deliver key concepts, research themes and debates in an engaging and meaningful way.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Professor<\/strong> <strong>Charles H. Cho <\/strong>(Schulich School of Business, York University, Canada) will lead a hands-on workshop on educational content that can be effectively used in teaching sustainability accounting with cases and exercises. The session will feature fellow accounting educators who will share their experiences with innovative content, diverse methodological approaches, and different contextual perspectives. Presenters will show their own sustainability accounting cases\u2014developed and used in their courses\u2014followed by a live, practical demonstration of how they teach them in the classroom. Attendees will gain valuable insights into effective ways to integrate these cases into their own courses. The session will conclude with an interactive Q&amp;A.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The four cases covered in the session will explore the following topics:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Carbon accounting<\/li>\n<li>Materiality assessment<\/li>\n<li>Social audit<\/li>\n<li>Inclusive leadership and decision-making<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These cases are drawn from Cho, Costa and Korca (forthcoming) and offer a rich foundation for engaging students in sustainability accounting.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Biography<br \/>\n<\/strong>Charles H. Cho is Professor of Sustainability Accounting and the Erivan K. Haub Chair in Business &amp; Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching (undergraduate, MBA, MSc, PhD and executive programs in various universities), researching and engaging with the sustainability, social and environmental accounting and reporting (SSEAR) field in multiple countries. His research has been published in leading academic journals, He is a member of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)\u2019s Global Sustainability Standards Board. As a globally recognized scholar, he frequently delivers keynotes and ranks among the top 2 per cent of cited accounting researchers worldwide.
