Integrating GenAI in Accounting Education: Preparing Future Financial Professionals
In this interactive, hands-on workshop, participants step into the role of students and experience a GenAI session exactly as it can be delivered in an accounting course. Together, we cover the key concepts of GenAI and explore how it can be applied to tasks performed by future financial professionals (e.g., reporting, client communication, and analysis). You will actively try out several exercises yourself (on your own laptop) and learn how to use GenAI critically and responsibly in an accounting context.
In addition, I will share best practices for implementing this workshop in your own teaching, including how to guide students in identifying both the opportunities and the risks of GenAI use. By the end of the session, you will leave with concrete use cases in accounting and teaching strategies that you can directly apply in your accounting classroom.
