Getting to Prague

Prague is well-connected and easily accessible from a variety of international and European cities. Delegates can choose to travel by plane, train, or bus, depending on their origin and preference.

By Plane

• Prague’s main international airport is Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG). It is located about 17 km from the city center and from the VŠE campus.
• The airport serves numerous direct flights from major European cities, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. The airport is also well-connected with major European transfer hubs (Munich, Frankfurt, Paris, London, Vienna, Amsterdam), both by major carriers and low-cost airlines.

From the Airport to the City

Public Transport

The connection between Václav Havel Airport Prague and Prague city centre is provided by public transport bus lines which operate at regular few-minute intervals. Bus stops are located directly in front of terminals. To get to Prague city centre the fastest by public transport,use the 59 bus (Terminal 1/Terminal 2 – Veleslavín train station) and changing to metro Line A. The standard public transport tickets can be bought in yellow machines located at the bus stop terminal.

Airport Express Bus

There is a specific Airport Express (AE) bus service that goes directly to the main train station (Praha hlavní nádraží). The standard public transport tickets are not valid on this route. The ticket costs 100 CZK and can be bought by the bus driver.

This option is convenient if you are planning to go directly from the airport to the VŠE campus, which is approximately a 7–8 minute walk from the main train station.

Taxi

Taxis are also available for a more direct route to your accommodation. Currently, the official taxi operator from the Prague Airport is UBER. We recommend having the UBER app installed on your mobile phone. But even if you do not the app, the taxi can be easily ordered and paid using the black kiosks located in the Airport arrival hall.

By Train

• Prague’s main train station is called Praha Hlavní Nádraží.
• It is a large station in a central location, just a short walk from Wenceslas Square and within easy walking distance of the Old Town. More importantly, the VŠE campus is close to the station — approximately a 7–8 minute walk via the corridor leading from the station to the square where the campus is located.
• Prague is a hub for Central Europe and is well-connected by train to cities such as Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt, Warszawa, Budapest, Bratislava.

By Bus

• International and long-distance buses typically arrive at Florenc Bus Station (Florenc) or Na Knížecí. Both stations are on the Prague metro network, making onward travel easy. The major bus operators are FlixBus and RegioJet, offering extensive bus networks connecting Prague to cities across Europe.
