Position Overview

The Free University of Bozen-Bolzano is seeking an Assistant Professor (RTDa) to join the Faculty of Economics. This three-year, full-time fixed-term position is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). The role focuses on research in accounting and finance, particularly on the implementation of XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) to enhance transparency and efficiency in financial reporting among SMEs in South Tyrol. The project further aims to evaluate the impact of XBRL on the local innovation ecosystem, especially in its application for ESG reportingand subsidized lending.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop Research Methodologies: Design and implement methods to assess XBRL’s effectiveness and adoption among SMEs.
• Teaching Activities: Deliver teaching in areas relevant to the research project; the teaching load is limited to 60 hours(approximately 2 semester hours per week) per academic year, allowing ample focus on research.
• Disseminate Research Findings: Present at national and international conferences, and publish at least one peer-reviewed article.
• Collaborate on Project Goals: Work closely with the project team at both the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano campus and NOI Techpark in Bolzano.
