The University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of a
of
Business Administration with a Focus on Management Accounting
at the Department of Organization and Learning at the Faculty of Business and Management.
This position is in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities’ Act (Universitätsgesetz – UG), based on a civil-law employment contract with the University on the basis of the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz). The contract is permanent, with full-time employment (100%).
Responsibilities
The professor shall represent the field of management accounting both in research and teaching.
The professor shall conduct research in the area of management accounting, preferably drawing on qualitative empirical methodology. Topics in this area of research include, for example, the design, use and effects of financial and non-financial control systems in profit and non-profit organisations, as well as the development and dissemination of calculative techniques and practices in different social contexts. The research agenda should complement and support existing research in the Department of Organisation and Learning. It should help further develop the research center “Accounting Theory and Research” and the research area “Economy, Politics and Society”, and contribute to developing the research profile of both the Department and the Faculty of Business and Management. The professor will be expected to publish in leading international peer-reviewed journals, cooperate with national and international research and/or project partners, and obtain research funding.
Upon appointment, the professor will teach in the Faculty’s undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs, with teaching in both, German and English languages. Active participation in the strategic development and governance of the Faculty of Business and Management is also expected.
