June 19–20, 2026
Call for Papers (Research)
Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, Banff, Alberta
Submission Deadline: January 12, 2026
2026 marks a milestone in Canadian accounting academia. Since the founding of the CAAA on December 2, 1976, influential research from Canadian accounting scholars has shaped practice, policy, and pedagogy across Canada and beyond.
The 2026 CAAA Annual Conference, to be held in person, will bring together prominent scholars, educators, practitioners, and emerging voices to celebrate the enduring impact of accounting scholarship and look ahead to the innovations that will drive our field forward.
Nestled in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, Banff offers a breathtaking backdrop for our conference to celebrate 50 years of excellence in Canadian accounting scholarship. Step outside the meeting rooms and you’ll find yourself immersed in Banff National Park—home to world-class hiking trails, vibrant wildlife, and stunning vistas at every turn. It is a place where great ideas meet great beauty, making this conference an experience you will never forget.
Featuring a plenary panel exploring how emerging technologies are shaping the future of the accounting profession and the distinguished Yuji Ijiri Lecture celebrating the field’s intellectual foundations, the conference will showcase diverse perspectives from regulators, leading scholars and educators, and industry leaders from Canada and beyond.
It is our great pleasure to invite submissions in all areas of accounting. We encourage submissions that aim to expand the scope, reach, and societal impact of accounting research, using any rigorous research methods. Submissions in English and French are both highly welcome.
Please see detailed submission guidelines on the CAAA website. At least one author of the submitted paper must be a CAAA member (see various membership benefits here). Authors will be informed of paper acceptance by early March 2026.
