In preparation for the special issue on ‘Accounting and Accountability in Africa’, we are pleased to announce the second of two planned online preparatory workshops. This second online workshop will be held on Thursday the 23rd of January 2025.
This second workshop aims to bring together academics working on accounting and accountability-related issues in Africa, particularly those who intend to submit their papers to the Special Issue of Accounting Forum on “Accounting and Accountability in Africa”. Submission to the workshop implies that the author(s) wish to be considered for the Special Issue Please refer to the Journal’s web page for full details of the call and themes.
We welcome submissions from established or emerging scholars. Given the closeness of the Special Issue deadline, we are now requesting full papers (completed or nearly completed drafts). Submissions consisting of only abstracts will not be considered.
All papers will be reviewed before being accepted. A discussant will be assigned if the paper is accepted. It is important to note that by submitting a paper to this 2nd virtual workshop on “Accounting and Accountability in Africa”, you are agreeing that you or one of your co-authors will be asked to review another paper and will also be asked to discuss a paper during the workshop.
The workshop will take place virtually via Zoom on Thursday the 23rd of January 2025 from 12pm to 5pm UK time. Each paper will be allocated 30 minutes (i.e 10 minutes to the discussant, 10 minutes to respond to the discussant, and 10 minutes for discussion).
To participate and present a paper, please submit via workshopacc2024@gmail.com, no later than Friday the 20th of December 2024 (5pm UK time) a PDF copy of the full paper (inclusive of an abstract and details of all authors/affiliations). Only one paper will be accepted for presentation in the workshop per corresponding/presenting author. All email submissions should include the subject heading: Accounting Forum SI Preparatory Workshop 2025 submission.
