Learning Objectives

After completing this series of videos, participants should be able to:

Asynchronous Material will cover the following topics:

  1. Introduction to visual analytics
  2. Introduction to PowerBI and the first visualization (What is it?, Benefits and limitations, Illustrative example in vendor management and datasets)
  3. Model data and data manipulations (Transform data, Working with multiple datasets and relationships, Calculated columns, dimensions, and measures, Aggregation, What do we find?)
  4. Predictive analytics with PowerBI (What is predictive analytics?, Limitations about prediction with visual anlaytics tools, An example, Assumptions and interpretations, Using PowerBI with Azure, R and Python)
  5. Building an interactive dashboard

PowerBI Interactive Session: “Designing and Implementing Data Analytics Exercises”

During this interactive session, Professor David Wang will share the do’s and don’ts when designing and implementing data analytics exercises. In addition, different design ideas will be discussed. Questions and comments can be submitted to the speaker under each video or posted on the chat during the live session.
