December 21- 22, 2026 – Hanoi, Vietnam

Submission Deadline: September 30, 2026 (early submission is encouraged)

The Regional International Accounting Research (RIAR) Conference-Vietnam invites high-quality country- or region-specific accounting research for presentation and potential publication in the Journal of International Accounting Research (JIAR). The conference is part of a JIAR initiative aimed at accelerating research that provides deep, contextual insights into individual countries or regions, especially those underrepresented in international accounting literature.

As Vietnam undergoes a pivotal transformation in recent years, marked by government restructuring, administrative reorganization, tax administration reforms and greater financial reporting transparency, and the transition toward IFRS-aligned standards, the country is becoming more integrated into the global economy. These developments create both opportunities and challenges across institutional and regulatory frameworks, capital markets, corporate governance, financial reporting, and supporting systems including accounting, taxation, and auditing infrastructure. The conference focuses on these changes to provide insights for Vietnamese policymakers, foreign investors, and stakeholders interested in Vietnam’s evolving economy.

Submission Topics
We encourage research addressing, but not limited to:
– Institutional and regulatory frameworks for accounting, auditing, and taxation in Vietnam
– Macroeconomic conditions and capital market developments and their implications for corporate governance, accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial reporting in Vietnam
– Roles of professionals, enterprises, government agencies and other stakeholders in implementation, compliance, and enforcement
– Environmental accounting, natural resource accounting, audit quality and firm valuation
– Management, reporting, and valuation of tangible and intangible assets, including natural resources, land and real estate
– Comparative and cross-country analyses with a focus on Vietnam

We welcome submissions employing a wide range of research methodologies, including theoretical, archival, behavior, case based, survey, and interview approaches. Replication studies pertaining to Vietnam will also be considered, provided they demonstrate methodological rigor and contribute novel insights to the field of international accounting research.
