Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor Position in Managerial Accounting

The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Bern invites applications for an

Assistant Professor (tenure track) or Associate Professor Position in Managerial Accounting

at the Institute for Accounting (www.iuc.unibe.ch). The position involves teaching and research in the area of managerial accounting. Candidates should apply experimental or survey methods and demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality research and teaching excellence. The candidate will contribute to the teaching of managerial accounting courses at the Bachelor and Master level. Teaching can be in English or German.
Candidates for the Assistant Professor level must have a doctoral degree (or be close to completion), a promising research plan and demonstrate research excellence and the potential to publish in leading international journals. For an appointment at the Associate Professor level, an internationally recognized record of research, including publications in top academic journals and an excellent record of teaching are required.
The University of Bern has set the aim of increasing the percentage of women in leading academic positions and thus strongly encourages qualified female scientists to apply for the position. Employment at the assistant professor level is for the duration of up to five years; if the qualification criteria are fulfilled, then the position will be trans-formed into a permanent Associate Professor position (Extraordinariat). Job sharing applications are possible for the Associate Professor position.
