Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) in Accounting and in Finance

The Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padua is seeking excellent candidates to fill the academic position of:

Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) in Accounting
(13/B1 – SECS-P/07 Economia Aziendale) and in Finance (13/B1 – SECS-P/09 Finanza Aziendale)

Job Description and Position
The two positions are offered either at the Assistant Professor (tenure track) or at the Associate Professor Level in Accounting (scientific sectors SECS-P/07) and Finance (SECS-P/09 according to the Italian academic system), depending on the candidates’ qualifications.
The Assistant Professor position entails a 3-year tenure track. Tenure is granted upon meeting the national requirements to qualify as associate professor. Teaching load is maximum 90 contact hours per year.

The Associate Professor position is tenured, full time, with a teaching load of 120 contact hours per academic year.

The annual gross salary – net of employer-paid social security contributions – is approx. €37.000 (Assistant Professor) or € 55.000 (Associate Professor). Whilst this is not negotiable, the faculty member will enjoy bi-annual increases upon meeting targets as defined by the University of Padua. The salary is subject to employee-paid social security contributions and Italian income tax. Depending on individual circumstances (e.g., being non-Italian resident for the past two years), the successful candidate may qualify for generous tax exemption (here for an unofficial but clear explanation of the mechanism at work).
