We invite candidates to apply for an academic position in management control at the Department of Management Control and Information Systems at the University of Chile.

The Department of Management Control and Information Systems (DCS) is one of the academic departments of the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. The potential candidate can come from the fields of Accounting, Business Administration or Management. A strong commitment to high-quality research is a must. Previous research output in management control is highly valuable.
The Department of Management Control and Information System (DCS) at the University of Chile (https://dcs.uchile.cl/) invites applicants for an associate professor position in the area of management control. This is a full-time position, starting when the position is filled. Flexibility about the starting date is possible.
We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate expertise in the area of management control, or study topics such as performance management, incentives or organizational culture. The ideal candidate would hold a Ph.D. in Accounting, Management, Business, Business Administration or equivalent, and have well-rounded capabilities in teaching and research. Applicants should be able to deliver excellent teaching at both undergraduate and graduate level, and pursue their own independent research, publishing in high quality academic journals, participating in conferences, and demonstrating their ability to apply and obtain funds for research. The position in management control is particularly oriented towards strategic management.
(*) Teaching may be in English or Spanish for the first two years. Teaching in Spanish is expected in the third year.
Salary follows the general guidelines from the University of Chile and it is competitive in the local market. Additional benefits include individual research budget renewable every year, university funding opportunities and performance-based bonuses for publications.
The applications will be evaluated by a local committee integrated by the Dean of the School of Economics and Business, the head of the Department and other selected academics from the school.
Selected applicants would be invited to present their work in a research seminar (possibly online), followed by an interview (possibly online). The results will be notified by email when the position is filled.
