Salary: Grade, level 7/8, £36,382 – £40,927/£44,706 – £51,799 per annum

The Adam Smith Business School (University of Glasgow) is seeking to appoint three outstanding candidates to posts as Lecturer in Accounting*. We are looking for candidates in all areas of Accounting, but are particularly interested in candidates who offer research or teaching expertise in areas such as:

•        Mainstream financial accounting and reporting or audit (including policy and regulation)

•        Company valuation and financial statements analysis

•        Emerging technologies or data analytics in Accounting Information Systems, Management  Control Systems and audit contexts.

You will be expected to contribute to providing our students with an outstanding learning experience as well as making a significant international quality contribution to research.

These posts are open at Lecturer level on the Research and Teaching track, and we are open to applications indicating part-time working hours. The criteria used for placement of successful candidates on the Lecturer (Grades 7 and 8) scales are those set out in the Job Specification documents, noting that we are a proud signatory to the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), which means that in hiring and promotion decisions we will evaluate applicants on the quality of their research, not journal metrics or the identity of the journal in which the research is published.

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that they can contribute to the teaching, research and engagement with practice aims of the Adam Smith Business School in an efficient, flexible and dynamic way. * In American/European terms these posts are approximately equivalent to tenure track Assistant Professor (Lecturer).

This position is open ended and full time, however part time working will also be considered.
