The Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University is pleased to announce the opportunity for a tenure track/tenured faculty position in Accounting, focusing on financial and managerial accounting in a global environment. The position is open in rank, with a preference for candidates with a demonstrated record of strong graduate and undergraduate teaching, the ability to conduct high quality research published in \“A level\” journals, to include case publication and books with premier publishers, and to interact with colleagues from multiple disciplines to support and enhance Thunderbird’s culture of inclusion, innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

 

Appointments to the position can begin as early as Spring 2023.

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications

 

  • Possess an earned doctorate in Accounting;
  • Must have a strong record of applied global research
  • Demonstrate the potential to actively publish research and cases in premier scholarly and applied journals, and/or books with highly ranked publishers;
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively teach accounting courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels —ideally in multiple modalities;
  • Candidates for the tenured Associate Professor or Full Professor rank should have an international reputation and distinguished record of scholarship, applied experience, external leadership, and university service;
  • Demonstrate a capacity for academic and professional innovation and entrepreneurship; and
  • Demonstrate the potential to meet both Thunderbird and ASU requirements for tenure.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Should have global, digital and sustainable mindsets and competencies
  • Executive education teaching experience;
  • Proficiency in more than one language;
  • Experience of either living and working in more than one country; and
  • Interdisciplinary backgrounds, applied research, and professional experience as complements to scholarly achievement
  • Cross-sectoral competencies from the business, government and nonprofit sectors

  • A research statement;
  • A teaching statement with evidence of teaching effectiveness (i.e., evaluations or evaluation summaries.)
  • A statement addressing the potential contributions to advancing diversity and inclusion at both Thunderbird and ASU; and;
  • A list of at least three (3) references.
