The Accounting Department of HEC Montréal invites applications for two tenure track positions in the areas of audit, financial accounting, management accounting, and tax starting June 1, 2022. All ranks (Assistant, Associate and Full Professor) will be considered.
 
Founded in 1907, HEC Montréal is one of the oldest and renown business schools in North America. Each year, more than 14,000 students are enrolled in its 30 management programs, a significant number of whom study in a multilingual undergraduate program offered in French, English and Spanish. With a large and diverse faculty of more than 230 professors, HEC Montréal is one of the few business schools in North America to be accredited by the three international agencies, AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. HEC Montréal has also received a Gold STARS certificate, which is awarded for best practices in sustainable development practices in academia.

The Accounting Department has more than 40 full-time professors and lecturers. Its researchers specialize in audit, financial accounting, management control, corporate governance, accounting sociology and taxation. In recent years, HEC Montréal faculty has published in leading accounting and management journals such as: The Accounting Review; Strategic Management Journal; Accounting, Organizations and Society; Review of Accounting Studies; Contemporary Accounting Research; Journal of Business Ethics; Organization Studies, Corporate Governance: An International Review; Management Accounting Research; and Journal of Accounting, Auditing & Finance. The Department holds two chairs and five research professorships and offers a wide range of courses at all levels of study (BAA, M.Sc., MBA and Ph. D). Our doctoral program is offered in collaboration with the other three Montréal universities, McGill, Concordia and UQAM.
 
Requirements
 
Applicants must have the following qualifications:
  • Possess (or be near completion of) a doctoral degree in accounting.
  • Demonstrate excellent pedagogical skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct high-quality research.
  • New hires should be able to teach in French in their third year. The school offers a personalized training program to those not fluent in French in order to be able to successfully teach in French.
