Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) seeks to appoint outstanding scholars in the field of accounting as faculty members. Applications are invited at all levels (Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor). Application deadline for this specific opening is August 15, 2024. The joining date is flexible.
Job Description:
The faculty members will be expected to teach courses in Financial Reporting, Cost and Management Accounting and the related areas in different short and long-duration programmes at IIMA. They will be expected to publish papers in journals related to their area that are rated highly as per ABDC, FT50, and ABS lists.
Eligibility:
The candidates must have a Ph.D. in relevant areas. They should have a strong pipeline of research papers in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation, corporate governance, or allied areas. For Associate Professor/Professor levels, the candidates should have demonstrated research and teaching excellence in these areas.
Assistant Professor: Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent with a brilliant academic background. Experience, while desirable, is not essential. Those about to complete their doctoral degree may also apply.
Associate Professor: Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent with a successful track record of research and publications and a minimum of 6 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 6 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor at an institution of repute.
Professor: Candidates should have a Ph.D. or equivalent with a successful track record of research and publications and a minimum of 10 years of teaching/research experience, of which at least 6 years should be at the level of Associate Professor at an institution of repute.
Outstanding managers or professionals, working in industry and with established reputations, and who have made significant contributions to knowledge, but do not possess a Ph.D. degree, may also be considered for appointment.

New faculty members are provided a start-up grant. The Institute has a system in place to offer a variety of research grants internally to its faculty members that facilitates hiring of research assistants and data for research. The Institute rewards faculty members who publish in top journals.
Faculty members are offered accommodation on campus and some support for relocation. Salaries, allowances, and superannuation benefits are offered as per the Government of India norms. Faculty is allowed to do consulting according to the institute norms.
