Applications are hereby invited for the post of Professor or Associate/Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Financial Accounting at Turku School of Economics. The position is situated at the Department of Accounting and Finance, in the subject Accounting and Finance.
The post will be filled directly as a Professor for an indefinite period or through a tenure track system first as fixed-term employment periods as Assistant / Associate Professor. An Assistant Professor first serves for a fixed term of 3-5 years and an Associate Professors for 2-4 years before being evaluated for an upgrade to become a full professor. The goal of an Assistant/Associate professor is to advance on the career path towards a professorship. This position will primarily be filled as a Professor or an Associate Professor.
The Department of Accounting and Finance consists of three subjects: Accounting and Finance, Business Law, and Quantitative Methods in Management. Research and teaching in Accounting and Finance cover the areas of management accounting, financial accounting (including auditing) and finance. Accounting and Finance is also the largest subject in terms of student numbers at the Turku School of Economics. Job description
The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor
- conducts and supervises scientific research,
- gives science-based education,
- follows developments in science, and
- participates in societal interaction and international cooperation in their field.
The subfield of the position is restricted to financial accounting (incl. auditing). Additionally, the selected candidate is expected to participate in administrative duties relevant to the position in question, to teach and supervise in the area of finance.
The candidate appointed to the position will, in principle, be responsible for leading the financial accounting group at the department. Therefore, evidence of international research contributions related to research in financial accounting (including auditing) conducted at the department will be considered an advantage for the applicant.
