Professor/Associate Professor in Business Economics

About the position

Molde University College, Norway, invites applications for a position as Professor/Associate Professor in Business Economics at the Faculty of Business Administration and Social Sciences.
 
Business economics is an essential part of Molde University College’s focus on both Business Administration and Logistics. We are seeking ambitious candidates who can document relevant research and teaching capabilities within business economics (financial accounting & auditing, cost accounting, financial economics, and operations research). Our ideal candidate publishes high quality research in top journals, works efficiently with colleagues across the faculty, teaches with excellence, and engages in public dissemination in order to market our activities.
 
Qualifications
We assess applicants based on an evaluation of documented professional ability. The applicant must specify the level of competence applied for. A relevant Ph.D. or similar scientific qualifications is required for employment.
 
Completed own program in university and college education (minimum 200 hours) / relevant courses and own practical teaching, and acquired basic skills in planning, conducting, evaluating and developing teaching and supervision (basic competence for teaching and supervision at university and college level). A candidate who do not meet these pedagogical competence requirements will be imposed to acquire this within two years. The appointee will primarily be involved in our degree programs at the bachelor and the master level. From time to time, the appointee may be asked to participate in the supervision of Ph.D. candidates.
 
Excellent language skills are important for teaching, verbal skills in particular. Norwegian or other Scandinavian language skills are preferable. We expect the candidate to be able to communicate in Norwegian at a sufficient level to fulfil the administrative tasks connected to the position within a timeframe of two years.
 
Applicants at the Professor rank must have a portfolio of publications in high-impact peer-reviewed journals (including publications in NSD level 2/AJG3* journals) and will be recognized experts in their research fields.
 
Applicants at the Associate Professor rank must provide evidence of past and/or potential excellence in scholarship, as demonstrated by publications and/or papers under review in top international journals.
 
The applicant must specify whether he/she is applying as a Professor or an Associate Professor.

We offer
Salary per year is normally in the range NOK 765 100 – 813 400 for Professor, and NOK 615 900 – 655 400 for Associate Professor. We may offer higher salaries to exceptional candidates. We also offer membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund. We offer generous research support and a competitive teaching load (three courses per year). In Norway, health care, schools, and most other public services are free of charge.
