The Faculty of Business and Management at the University of Innsbruck invites applications for the position of a
University Professor
of
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION WITH A FOCUS ON
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
at the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation.
It is a position in accordance with § 98 of the Austrian Universities’ Act (Universitätsgesetz – UG) and will be based on a civil-law employment contract with the University on the basis of the Salaried Employees Act (Angestelltengesetz). The contract will be concluded for an unlimited period; the extent of employment is 100%.
Responsibilities include:
The professor shall represent the field of financial accounting in research and teaching. This field covers in particular questions of national and international financial accounting and reporting.
His or her research shall address key questions of financial accounting and reporting, thereby contributing to the international scientific discourse in this field. The research shall be compatible with research in the Department of Accounting, Auditing and Taxation. It should help further develop the research center “Accounting Theory and Research” and the research platform “Economy, Politics and Society” and contribute to developing the research profile of both the Department and the Faculty of Business and Management. The professor will be expected to publish in leading international peer-reviewed journals, to cooperate with international research and/or project partners, and to obtain research funding.
Upon appointment, the professor will teach in the Faculty’s undergraduate, graduate and PhD programs, with teaching being in both German and English. He or she will also be expected to actively participate in the strategic development and governance of the Faculty of Business and Management.
Employment Requirements include:
a) a pertinent degree in higher education in Austria or the equivalent abroad;
b) a pertinent 'Habilitation' or equivalent qualification;
c) publications in leading international peer-reviewed academic journals;
d) participation in the relevant international scholarly discourses;
e) experience in raising external research funding;
f) excellent teaching skills;
g) international scientific experience pertinent to the discipline;
h) the ability to lead teams in research and teaching.
