POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN Accounting (Lille Campus)

IÉSEG School of Management – Lille Economics and Management (LEM – CNRS) invites applications for a temporary, 24-month fully-funded postdoctoral position in Accounting (Lille Campus, starting September 2023). The selected candidate will be part of the department of “Accounting”.

ABOUT THE ACCOUNTING DEPARTMENT
The department consists of 20+ academic staff members in the areas of Financial Accounting, Taxation and Management Control and faculty are represented on both campuses. Faculty members have high international visibility and serve senior roles in the accounting community. The team organizes frequent seminars with international speakers and hosts major conferences on a regular basis. Faculty members have been successful in publishing their research papers in top-tier international journals including: The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, European Accounting Review, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, Critical Perspectives of Accounting, Journal of Corporate Finance, Small Business Economics, Corporate Governance: An international Review, among others.

ABOUT THE POSITION
Research will be a strong focus of the selected candidate as he/she/they will contribute to the vibrant research community at IESEG through their commitment to research excellence. He/she/they will join a dedicated research team to conduct high-quality research and will collaborate with senior Professors in the Team. He/she/they will receive regular mentorship and will be expected to disseminate his/her/their research through journal submissions and conference presentations. He/she/they is expected to conduct research with the team members. The research may focus on topics including (but not limited to) the following:
– Capital market-based accounting research
– Ownership structure and corporate reporting
– Disclosure policies in traditional and new media
– Corporate taxation and reporting decisions
– Auditing

The selected candidate is expected to hold a PhD and have developed a proven research agenda. Previous research background in (some of) the topics listed above is a plus.

In terms of teaching, the selected candidate will also be involved in limited teaching activities in Accounting courses at the undergraduate, graduate and/or postgraduate level. As such, we are looking for candidates with good teaching skills, and who are fluent in English. Professional experience and knowledge of French are a plus, but not a requirement.

WORKING AT IÉSEG
The selected applicant is expected to begin his/her/their assignment in September 2023. The appointment is for 24 months. Gross salary is competitive with other European research and academic institutions. The researcher will be based on the campus of IÉSEG School of Management in Lille.
