TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING

The Geneva School of Economics and Management (GSEM) invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in management accounting at the Institute of Management (IoM).
The major goal of this open position will be to strengthen GSEM’s research and teaching capabilities in the area of management accounting. The successful candidate will actively contribute to research and teaching activities of the GSEM in the area of management accounting covering areas such as performance management, management control and governance. This is a full-time position involving teaching at the bachelor, master and postgraduate levels including the supervision of master theses and doctoral dissertations.
The candidate will be expected to develop research at an international level in their field of specialization and to obtain external funding. The candidate will also be expected to assume management and organizational tasks related to their function at the Institute of Management and to be engaged in the GSEM’s community, to actively collaborate with its various stakeholders, and to contribute to initiatives of the School.

Candidate Profile
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Management Accounting or in a related field from a recognized university. The candidate should have experience in/potential for teaching foundational and advanced courses in management accounting at all levels at the GSEM, especially in the BSc in Economics and Management and MSc in Responsible Management programs, and possibly in the EMBA program. The candidate is expected to teach in English. The ability to teach in French is an advantage.
The candidate should have a demonstrated track-record of/outstanding potential for conducting world-class research in the field of management accounting, ideally related to the GSEM’s research focus areas of analytics, governance, and sustainability. The candidate should be capable to publish in top-tier journals and to acquire research grants (e.g., from the Swiss NSF).
