DO I NEED AN ENTRY VISA FOR ITALY?

Italy is part of the Schengen Area. Citizens of EU member states, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland do not require a visa. Other travellers should verify their requirements through the official Visa for Italy portal.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I SUBMIT MY VISA APPLICATION?

Applications may generally be submitted up to six months before travel and normally no later than 15 calendar days before departure. Early application is strongly recommended.

WHERE DO I APPLY FOR A VISA?

Applications should be submitted to the Italian Embassy, Consulate or authorised Visa Application Centre responsible for the applicant residence.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED TO APPLY FOR A VISA?

Requirements vary by nationality and visa category. Typical documents include passport, application form, photograph, proof of accommodation, proof of financial means, travel insurance and travel itinerary.

HOW MUCH DOES A VISA COST?

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET A VISA?

Short-stay Schengen visas are generally processed within 15 calendar days and may take up to 45 days in specific cases.

INVITATION LETTERS

Registered participants may request an invitation letter from the Congress Secretariat. Invitation letters support, but do not guarantee, visa issuance.
