NHH Norwegian School of Economics is located close to the Bergen city center. The Campus is overlooking the harbor towards the city of Bergen and its surrounding islands. Bergen’s natural setting with seven mountains framing the westward-looking city is striking. The school contains modern lecture and meeting facilities, computer laboratories, and study rooms. Since its establishment in 1936, NHH has been the leading center for research and education within the fields of economic and business administration in Norway. NHH came into being as a result of the dedication and commitment of the business community in Bergen. From the 1990’s NHH has focused increasingly on internationalization, joining CEMS and PIM. NHH has had full EQUIS accreditation since 2001.
Today NHH is one of the leading business schools in Europe. NHH has an internationally recognized research environment and is the first choice for students who want to study business administration in Norway. In close cooperation with the business community and society, NHH is committed to developing new knowledge and creating values for a sustainable future. The school has 3,400 students and over 400 employees.
The Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law at NHH has 24 full time faculty members, 37 part time faculty members and 13 doctoral students. Our faculty has three main research and teaching areas: Financial Accounting and Auditing, Management Accounting and Control, and Economics, Ethics and Law. The department has strong ties to practice and attracts a high number of students to its master program in professional accounting.
