The EAA DEI Committee is pleased to invite you to our upcoming event, DEI Accounting Research – Status and Opportunities, taking place via Zoom on June 20 from 2:00 to 3:30 pm (CET). Registration is now open.

This session will provide a platform to discuss the opportunities in the area of DEI accounting research, as highlighted by various call for papers for special issues and also practitioners’ perspectives. Our speakers are guest editors of special issues on topics related to DEI, and also a practitioner. We aim for a meaningful discussion about research on DEI, to advance the research agenda on this topic.

The 90-minute event will include a panel discussion followed by a Q&A session.

Our panel is comprised of:

Merridee Bujaki, Carleton University, Canada – guest editor of Accounting Perspectives’ special issue “Sharing accounting research on equity, diversity, indigeneity, inclusion and belonging with Canadian accountants”

Mercy Denedo, University of Durham, UK – guest editor of Accounting in Europe’s special issue “Accounting for diversity and equity: (How) should we regulate it?”

Jia Liu, Portsmouth University, UK – guest editor of British Accounting Review’s special issue on “Diversity, equality, and inclusion in accounting and finance”

Mona Nikidehaghani, University of Wollongong, Australia – guest editor ofAccounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal’s special issue on “Accounting for inequalities”
