We welcome you to attend the 45th Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association in Finland hosted by Aalto University School of Business. The congress will take place both in our capital city Helsinki and the neighboring city Espoo on May 24-26, 2023.
The main congress venue is located on the main campus of Aalto University in Otaniemi, Espoo (10 km from Helsinki City center with a direct metro connection). The prominent buildings and landscapes of the campus were originally designed by Alvar Aalto, a prominent Finnish architect, designer, and businessman. The university pays homage to Aalto’s legacy, entrepreneurialism, and versatility by adopting his name and continuing to advance his vision.
The doctoral colloquium will be held on the most beautiful island Hanasaari (just 6 km from Helsinki City center) before the congress during May 20-23, 2023.
Aalto University was established in 2010 as a merger of University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics, and University of Art and Design to foster multi-disciplinary education and research and promote innovation. It has contributed substantially to the emergence of a startup society with Europe’s largest and most active student-run entrepreneurship community, which is deeply engaged in organizing famous startup events like the Startup Sauna accelerator program and the Slush startup networking event. Currently, the university comprises six schools with close to 19,000 students and 4,400 staff members.
The predecessor of the School of Business, the Helsinki School of Economics, was founded in 1911. It is the largest business school in Finland, with 3,900 students and over 400 staff members. Aalto University School of Business was the first business school in the Nordics with the Triple Crown accreditation of AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. In the most recent Shanghai Rankings, we were ranked 25th worldwide. Our business school motto, “better business – better society,” reflects the values most dear to us.
