Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania (CAFR)
The Chamber of Financial Auditors of Romania is the professional body in charge of coordinating, authorizing and representing the financial audit activity in Romania, other than statutory audit. CAFR is a advocate of the adoption of international professional standards, while providing the business environment and society, in general, with clear sets of regulations and trust in audit engagements. We are actively contributing to the activity of IFAC, Accountancy Europe, EFAA, PAEE and the Strategic Forum for the Accounting Profession. At internal level we participate in all audit-related consultations carried out by national authorities and we actively cooperate with State institutions, similar professional bodies, the academia and the business environment. EFRAG is a private association established in 2001 with the encouragement of the European Commission. EFRAG’s mission is to serve the European public interest in both financial reporting and sustainability reporting by developing and promoting European views in the field of corporate reporting and by developing draft EU Sustainability Reporting Standards. In its financial reporting activities, EFRAG ensures that the European views are properly considered in the IASB’s standard-setting process and in related international debates. EFRAG ultimately provides advice to the European Commission on whether newly issued or revised IFRS Standards meet the criteria of the IAS Regulation for endorsement for use in the EU, including whether endorsement would be conducive to the European public good. In its sustainability reporting activities EFRAG provides technical advice to the European Commission in the form of draft EU Sustainability Reporting Standards accompanied by bases of conclusions and cost benefit analysis including impact analysis.
