EMERGING SCHOLARS’ COLLOQUIUM
at 2nd ACCOUNTING FORUM CONFERENCE
June 1, 2026
Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Bucharest, Romania

We invite accounting (and non-accounting) research students and emerging scholars from all geographic areas to submit to the Emerging Scholars Colloquium (ESC) to be held on June 1, 2026. The ESC is part of the 2nd Accounting Forum Conference on June 1-3, 2026, which will be hosted by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), Faculty of Accounting and Management Information Systems. The ESC provides the delegates with the opportunity to receive feedback on their work from senior academics, as well as networking opportunities.

Submissions
The format of the submission is a 500 word ‘pitch’ (see form attached, also available on the conference website). Pitches should be submitted by email to accforum@adelaide.edu.au by March 25, 2026.

Format and information
The ESC will start with a networking lunch (provided) on Monday June 1, followed by a plenary session and presentations from each participant. Centering on the dialogue between participants and attendees, we invite a brief pitch with 10–15-minute presentations of the main project ideas, focusing on the key challenges the presenter is facing and wishes to discuss. Each presentation will be followed by a 10–15-minute discussion facilitated by a leading academic. The focused exchange is intended to provide participants with insightful new perspectives on their research project.

Spaces are limited to 25 participants and delegates will have the ability to meet and network with the 4-
5 leading scholars in various fields of accounting research.

Registration
Registration information is available on the conference website. Delegates may choose to register for only the ESC (which includes lunch and dinner), or for the ESC and main conference (which includes the SC and conference dinners, and lunch on all three days).

Venue
The conference will take place at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies (ASE), 7 Piata Romana, Bucharest. More information will be made available on the conference website. Accommodation Delegates will need to book their own hotel accommodation in Bucharest. A list of suggested hotel options is made available on the conference website.
