We are pleased to launch the first event of the ARC PhD initiative series with an online workshop dedicated to one of the most important tools for early-career researchers:  The academic CV.

 πŸŽ― Goal of the Event

Your CV is often the **first point of contact** in academic applications. The objective of this session is to provide PhD students and early-career researchers with **practical guidance on how to craft an effective academic CV.

The workshop will focus on:

  • how to structure an academic CV
  • how to present research and teaching experience
  • common mistakes and how to avoid them
  • how to tailor your CV for different opportunities

 πŸ§© Structure of the Session

πŸ”Ή Part I – Plenary Session (10:00 – 11:15)

The first part will consist of a plenary session with short contributions from invited speakers, offering different perspectives on how to craft an academic CV and navigate early academic career choices. The session will also include the participation of former PhD students, who will share their experience and insights, including their involvement in ARC initiatives such as the PhD Visiting Scheme.

πŸ”Ή Part II – CV Clinic (11:30 – 13:00)

The second part of the event will be an interactive **CV clinic**, where participants will receive feedback in small groups. Participants will be divided into breakout rooms led by experienced researchers. This session is designed to provide practical and personalized feedback on participants’ CVs.
