We invite candidates to apply for an academic position in accounting at the Department of Management Control and Information Systems at the University of Chile.

The Department of Management Control and Information Systems is one of the academic departments of the School of Economics and Business of the Universidad de Chile. The potential candidate can come from the fields of Accounting, Business Administration, Management or Finance. A strong commitment to high-quality research in accounting is a must. Previous research output in accounting is highly valuable.

Job Description & Qualification

The Department of Management Control and Information System at the University of Chile (https://dcs.uchile.cl) invites applicants for an assistant or associate professor position in the area of accounting. This is a full-time position, starting when the position is filled. Flexibility about the starting date is possible.

Applicants roles and responsibilities:

• Conduct high-quality research in the area of accounting.
• Contribute to existing research projects.
• Teach three courses per year at the undergraduate or graduate level. (*)
• Supervise postgraduate theses.
• Participate in administrative duties is expected from every faculty member.

(*) Teaching may be in English or Spanish for the first two years. Teaching in Spanish is expected in the third year.

Salary follows the general guidelines from the University of Chile and it is competitive in the local market. Additional benefits include: individual research budget renewable every year, university funding opportunities and performance-based bonuses for publications.

Eligibility criteria and results

The applications will be evaluated by a local committee integrated by the Dean of the School of Economics and Business, the head of the Department and other selected academics from the school.

Selected applicants could be invited to present their work in a research seminar (possibly online), followed by an interview (possibly online). The results would be notified via email when the position is filled.
