CALL FOR PAPERS
In 2026 the JBFA Conference will return to its roots in the beautiful Lake District area of northern England. We are grateful to the International Centre for Research in Accounting at Lancaster University and Wiley Publishers for their sponsorship of this annual event.
We publish papers in the areas of financial and non-financial reporting and performance measurement, corporate finance and accounting-based asset pricing, corporate governance, and their interfaces. We invite submissions of high-quality research papers addressing
topical research questions in any of these areas.
Submissions of papers employing novel research methods or data will be particularly welcomed. Preference will be given to submissions that take an international perspective or exploit international institutional differences. We are open to theoretical papers that have clear predictions motivating new empirical tests and/or explanations of existing empirical regularities. We are also interested in comprehensive critiques and reviews of international research literatures within our areas of interest.
Original papers should be submitted no later than November 30, 2025. Conference submissions will be treated as submissions to JBFA. Papers will be reviewed and decisions on accepted papers will be conveyed to authors before the end of March 2026. Subject to satisfactory revision, papers accepted for the Conference will be subsequently published in JBFA and in a Virtual Special Issue. Papers should be submitted online following the guidance at https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/page/journal/14685957/homepage/forauthors.html. Please check the Special Issue (2026 Conference) option and indicate your paper is a Conference submission in your covering letter.
Conference attendance is by invitation only. The Conference will start in the evening of May 20, 2025 with an Early Bird reception and end at lunchtime on May 22, 2025. There is no registration fee. JBFA will cover the costs of lunches and dinner for all participants and accommodation for presenting authors. Detailed arrangements will be provided when invitations are sent out in early April, 2026, once the conference programme has been finalised.
